This workshop will guide you through the British Bryological Society’s (BBS) key to Sphagnum mosses.The emphasis will be on identifying many in the field with a hand lens, useful for NVC surveying, also we can bring specimens back to look under a low power microscope if necessary.

Roy Jeffries, a BBS recorder for Devon and Cornwall will show us which species can be identified in the field and which may need further investigation and also provide essential habitat, micro habitat information and the survey techniques required for this fascinating group of mosses.
