Volunteer Profiles

Jax Metcalfe

• Jax came to ERCCIS in October 2009 after completing a master’s in Conservation & Biodiversity.
• She wanted to volunteer, expand her knowledge base and gain experience whilst looking for gainful employment within the environmental sector.
• Jax works with the Wildlife Information Service providing ecological data and advice.

John Rance

• John has been a volunteer at ERCCIS since May 09.
• He helps the Wildlife Information Service by answering phone calls and email enquiries from members of the public regarding a wide variety of wildlife and conservation issues.
• John is an avid birder and an active recorder. His extensive bird knowledge means that staff and other volunteers will often turn to him with avian queries.

Sue Swinchatt

• Sue started volunteering at ERCCIS in July 2009.
• She helps by inputting species records and checking those records entered by others.
• Sue has recently helped to complete the first ERCCIS introduction guide, the summary of spider recording in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
